Comprising more than 1000 pages, Textbook of Critical Care is an extensive guide to all aspects of critical care.

Divided into 14 sections, the book begins with discussion on general principles including recognition of critical illness, airway management, monitoring and mechanical ventilation.

The next sections cover critical care scenarios in different systems of the body – cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, gastrointestinal, neurological, and endocrine.

These are followed by detailed chapters on post-surgical care, obstetric critical care, haematology, rheumatology and oncology, infections, toxicology, and trauma.

The second edition has been fully revised and updated to provide clinicians and trainees with the latest advances and technologies in the field. 15 new chapters have been added to this edition, including one on COVID-19.

The comprehensive text is supported by diagrams, tables, boxes and images to aid understanding, and key points summaries conclude each chapter.
